MANILA, Philippines - Following the success of Vitamilk soy milk since its entry into the Philippine market, Asia Brewery officially opens AB Nutribev, its soy milk beverage manufacturing plant in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. The company is the first manufacturing plant to produce Vitamilk outside its origin country, Thailand, and the first in the Philippines to introduce the most advanced technology in locally manufacturing soy milk, as certified by the Board of Investments.
Vitamilk was launched in the Philippines in 2011 and is currently owning close to 90-percent market share based on Nielsen Retail Audit as of full-year 2016. In this regard, the brand’s Thai founder, Green Spot, granted Asia Brewery the license to produce Vitamilk in the Philippines, which led to the birth of AB Nutribev.
“Vitamilk’s nutritional value and great taste account for the success and popularity that it enjoys today. And it is in our core interest to make this healthy beverage choice as accessible and affordable to the mass market through local production with the opening of AB Nutribev. Together with our partners from Green Spot, we will continue to ensure we meet the market’s demand for a healthy soy milk drink,” said Asia Brewery Inc. COO Michael Tan.
AB Nutribev works under close supervision from Green Spot, which is recognized as one of the world’s biggest manufacturers of soy milk products, exporting to more than 40 countries across the world.
“Philippines is a strong market for Vitamilk in Asia, apart from Thailand. Its phenomenal growth in the past six years has created bigger demands for production that only a local plant can support. We have full confidence and trust on Asia Brewery’s capabilities to uphold the Green Spot standards and extend our values to the Philippine market,” explained Green Spot Co. president Chote Sophonpanich.
