MANILA, Philippines - DM Consunji Inc. and SL Development Construction Corp. have bagged contracts to upgrade transmission line projects in Mindoro to improve the reliability and reduce systems loss in the island.
DM Consunji Inc. won the bid for the rehabilitation of the 69kV 44 kilometer Calapan–Bansud transmission line, expansion of the Bansud and San Jose Substations and construction of the Mansalay Switching Station.
Meanwhile, SL Development clinched the contract to rehabilitate the 69kV 41 km Calapan Puerto Galera transmission line.
DM Consunji is the construction arm of DMCI Holdings Inc., which operates diesel and bunker power plants in Oriental Mindoro through DMCI Power Corp.
Meanwhile, SL Development is among the leading contractors of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP), the country’s grid operator.
State-run National Power Corp. (Napocor) has awarded three transmission line projects after getting clearance from its board of directors chaired by the Department of Finance.
“These projects will also improve power dispatch and enhance system protection of the grid,” said Napocor president Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita.
Likewise, Napocor said it has recently completed the rehabilitation of the 69 kV 87 km Mamburao–Sablayan–Ligaya in Occidental Mindoro and is currently undertaking the construction of the 69kV, 64-km Bansud–Mansalay transmission line in Oriental Mindoro.
Aside from the Mindoro grid, Napocor also manages and implements various transmission line projects in the provinces of Palawan, Catanduanes, Masbate and Marinduque.
