Chinese investors eyed for Philippine tourism sector
DAVAO CITY, Philippines — More Chinese investors are eyeing to invest in the Philippine tourism sector almost a month after President Rodrigo Duterte’s state visit to Beijing, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said.
Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo said more Chinese businessmen have signified their interest to invest in tourism-related projects and establishments in the country, particularly in Manila, Cebu and Davao.
“Many will be coming. They’re looking for partners,” Teo said.
For one, Teo said a group of 100 Chinese investors would be coming to the Philippines to explore opportunities here and talk to potential partners.
“I just got the email that they are coming on the 21st and will be staying here for one month,” Teo said.
