ABS-CBN opening first experience store next year

MANILA, Philippines – ABS-CBN Corp. is opening its first experience store in the third quarter of next year.

ABS-CBN chief financial officer Aldrin Cerrado said the media and entertainment company expects to open the first experience store by “early third quarter of next year.”

The firm partnered with Ayala Malls for the first experience store to be located in Trinoma Mall in Quezon City.

Cerrado said Ayala would be turning over the space to ABS-CBN in January.

ABS-CBN is putting up an experience store to better connect with audiences as it continues to grow its consumer business.

Through the experience store, visitors could be part of their favorite ABS-CBN shows by playing roles, as well as purchase their favorite merchandise.

The store will also serve as the venue to allow visitors to interact with their favorite Kapamilya stars.

ABS-CBN is primarily involved in television (TV) and radio broadcasting, as well as in the production of TV and radio programs.

In addition, it is engaged in other businesses such as merchandising and licensing, mobile and online multimedia services, glossy magazine publishing, video and audio post production, overseas telecommunication services, money remittance, cargo forwarding, TV shopping services, theme park development and management, property management and food and restaurant services.

ABS-CBN said its net income grew 50 percent to P2.85 billion in the first nine months from P1.89 billion in the same period last year.
