MANILA, Philippines – Ford Philippines posted its third consecutive record year as sales surged 25 percent to 25,372 units on the back of strong demand across its entire vehicle lineup.
The company said its record 2015 sales fueled Ford to jump one spot higher and become the third best-selling automotive brand in the Philippines last year.
“It’s been a breakthrough year for Ford in the Philippines. We launched more global Ford vehicles that showcased the very best of Ford, and expanded our retail presence across the country to make the Ford brand closer to our customers through a strong dealer network. We’re truly proud of how the Ford brand is being embraced by our Filipino customers,” said Ford Philippines managing director Lance Mosley.
The EcoSport was Ford’s best-selling nameplate in the country in 2015.
December retail sales of EcoSport rose 49 percent to 799 units, driving full-year sales to 8,702 units, the highest full-year total for a single Ford nameplate.
The Ranger, meanwhile, was the country’s second best-selling pickup truck with total retail sales increasing six percent year-on-year to 8,445 units.
“We launched the new Ranger here in August, and it really helped to build on an already strong reputation as the most capable, powerful and smartest pickup in the market,” Mosley said.
Across all models, Ford’s December sales rose 48 percent year-on-year to 2,824 units.
The company said it also posted a record quarter in the October to December period last year as sales jumped 50 percent year-on-year to 8,691 units.
“This year we’ll continue with a focus on further strengthening our customer experience – both by continuing to expand our nationwide network of Ford dealers, and by working closely with each of our dealerships to ensure nothing but a truly world-class offering,” Mosley said.
Ford added five new dealerships last year, bringing the total to 40 from Luzon to Mindanao.
