Kenya Airways wins Best Business Class Award
MANILA, Philippines - Kenya Airways bagged the Best Business Class award in this year’s Africa World Travel Award, the company said.
This marks the third time the company bagged the award – Africa’s Leading Airline – Business Class 2015, beating Egypt Air, Ethiopian Airlines, Royal Air Maroc and South African Airways.
Officials of the company welcomed the award and attributed the success to the company’s recent investment on its product offering.
“We have been investing heavily on our product in a bid to improve the customers’ experience. This award, the third year in a row, is a testament of the investments that we have made in the past couple of years in terms of our aircraft and the service we offer our customers,” said Kenya Airways CEO and managing director Mbuvi Ngunze.
He said the airline is committed to consistently deliver world-class service to its guests.
Among the airline’s investments include new equipment at new lounges at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Kenya Airways currently boasts the youngest fleet in the region having invested in new equipment including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. It has already received seven of the nine ordered Dreamliners with the last one expected next month.
Dubbed Premier World, the airline’s business class provides full flatbed seats, laptop stowage, armrests that also act as privacy dividers, high quality in-flight entertainment, USB port, power sockets and a wide range of in-flight catering.
The World Travel Awards (WTA) is dubbed the ‘Oscars of the travel industry’ and is held annually. The awards were established in 1993 and reward outstanding achievements within the global travel industry.
