Globe launches DigiMall online bazaar
MANILA, Philippines - Ayala-led Globe Telecom Inc. is set to launch the country’s first online bazaar DigiMall next week to enable shoppers to conveniently purchase gifts without having to go through long lines and heavy traffic.
The online bazaar DigiMall is being made possible by Globe’s small and medium enterprise (SME) arm Globe myBusiness with online commerce platform Shopify.
Through DigiMall, which will take place on December 18 to 20, Globe intends to enable customers to go to an online platform www.DigiMall.com.ph to purchase items.
The DigiMall features sites or virtual booths of more than 25 merchants using Shopify.
Globe has earlier entered into a partnership with Shopify which allows SMEs to set up their online stores for as low as P429 per month.
Apart from building an online store, the partnership of Globe myBusiness with Shopify also allows SMEs to manage back-end processes through capabilities such as tracking orders and customer data, managing inventory, monitoring sales, viewing analytics information, among others.
Globe myBusiness senior vice president Martha Sazon said the Christmas season is the perfect time to launch DigiMall with consumers set to purchase gifts and the use of mobile Internet on the rise.
“With DigiMall, Globe myBusiness aims to shift the focus from the weekend bazaars and shops to the online stores. This is why we have also solidified our partnership with Shopify so that more and more merchants can expand their business and digital footprint,” she said.
As more business owners put up their own online stores, she said the enterprises are also able to serve and cater to a growing number of customers who live the digital lifestyle and want to do their shopping online.
