Now gets go-signal for telco entry
MANILA, Philippines - Listed Now Corp. has been granted a five-year extension by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to offer value-added telecommunications and information technology (IT) services.
In a statement yesterday, Now said it received NTC’s go-signal to continue offering various services such as virtual private networks, cloud hosting services, multimedia content and program services, online game services, cloud-based multimedia conferencing services, web hosting, and online game services, among others.
At present, Now owns 19 percent of Now Telecom Co., a licensed telecom, mobile cellular and wired/wireless broadband firm.
In October, the company rolled out new offerings covering broadband Internet service with wireless cable television (TV) and a digital media platform for free TV, web channels and cloud services.
Among its innovative technology creations are the Now Broadband Cable TV, a broadband Internet service with Wireless Cable TV, and NowPlanet.TV which serves as a digital media platform that converges free TV, web channels, cloud services, and other interactive services.
The company also launched its new website (www.nownetwork.ph) dedicated to the broadband service.
As of end-October this year, Now’s gross revenues amounted to P85 million, well-above the P65 million in the same period last year.
The company expects gross revenues to reach a total of P95 million this year.
It generated P73.78 million worth of revenues in 2014.
Formerly known as Information Capital Technology Ventures Inc., Now is engaged in the business of telecommunications, media and IT services.
