DMCI launching 9 housing projects

Iris Gonzales - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - DMCI Homes, the property unit of the Consunji Group, plans to launch nine projects with a total sales value of P50 billion, officials said yesterday.

Jose Ramil Lombos, CFO of DMCI Homes, said the estimated sales for the nine projects is higher than this year’s sales target of P30 billion.

The nine projects for 2016 will translate to an estimated 14,000 units compared to 10,000 units launched in 2015.

Also in 2016, the company is looking at venturing into other segments of the market such as the office space and mass housing.

“We’re trying out new projects. We’re trying high-end and we’re trying low-end,” Lombos said.

DMCI Homes president Alfredo Austria said for its foray into mass housing, the company is looking to launch its maiden project in Bataan.

“It will possibly be in Bataan but we’re still studying the details,” Austria said.

He said should the company decide to enter the mass housing market, it would be more to serve a need rather than to generate revenues.

“We’re not going into this because it’s lucrative. It’s like our CSR. We don’t expect good margins,” Austria said.

For the high-end market, the company is eyeing to launch a 300-unit project on a 1.1-hectare property in the Bay Area in Manila, Austria said.

The average unit price will be more than P10 million for units ranging from 80 square meters to 100 sqm.
