MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Airlines (PAL) has revitalized its loyalty program Mabuhay Miles by providing additional perks to customers in line with its aim to get more passengers and become the preferred airline.
“We envision the Mabuhay Miles Program to be one of the key drivers in making Philippine Airlines the ‘airline of choice’. We thank our loyal patrons for their all-out support through the years. As part of the PAL family, we shall endeavor to offer them what they deserve — a more rewarding mileage and rewards program,” PAL president Jaime J. Bautista said during the enhanced loyalty program’s launch.
For his part, Kevin Hartigan-Go, vice president for ancillary business group at PAL said the Mabuhay Miles is more than just a frequent flyer program.
“It has become a symbol of PAL’s commitment to delight loyal customers by providing perks and privileges that are at par and even beyond its competitors,” he said.
Under the enhanced loyalty program, PAL is offering greater seat availability per flight for rewards redemption to provide members the chance to convert miles to seats even on peak season.
PAL is also allowing its members to earn miles not only on it flights, but even on flights with its code-share and airline partners.
PAL’s airline partners are All Nippon Airways and Etihad Airways, while its code-share partners are Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Gulf Air, Turkish Airlines and West Jet.
To provide more benefits to Mabuhay Miles members, the airline is entering new partnerships with various establishments.
Apart from foreign airlines, the frequent flyer program’s industry program partners include financial institutions, hotels, telecommunication firms, retailers and other travel-related companies.
PAL is likewise rolling out service innovations such as the Mabuhay Miles Travel Card or the multi-currency prepaid card, which would allow a member to earn and redeem miles for every purchase made with partner-merchants, as well as the myPALshop or an online store featuring hotel deals, car rentals, tours and recreation packages, health, fashion, beauty and electronic items.
