Global-Link and Piid formally announces Interior&Design Manila 2016

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Global-Link Exhibitions Specialist, Inc. and the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID) formally launched Interior&Design Manila (IDM) 2016. A first of its kind in the country, IDM 2016 — the Philippine International Interior & Design Exhibition and Conference — is scheduled on March 11 to 13, 2016 and will be held at the SMX Convention Center Manila, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

“The practice of interior design in the Philippines has really evolved over the years. We have more and more designers showcasing their works abroad and the country is starting to gain recognition as a hub for producing some of the best in this field. But until now, there has not been a platform in the Philippines solely created for this creative industry to showcase their art. That’s why we are launching Interior & Design Manila — to give interior designers and their suppliers a venue to widen their network and explore business opportunities that no other trade show in the country can provide,” said Global-Link Exhibitions Specialist, Inc. CEO Patrick-Lawrence Tan.

IDM 2016 will be held coinciding the world-class Philippines International Furniture Show (PIFS), which gathers some of the best in the field of furniture design and manufacturing in the country. Companies like Pacific Paints (Boysen) Philippines, Matimco, and Wilcon Depot Inc. have already confirmed sponsorship of this flagship venture between Global-Link and the PIID.

PIID president James Jao says of the project, “IDM 2016 will be the forefront trade show and conference for all our members to show the world what they can do — a must-see event for designers and allied professionals that will create desire to create designs beyond boundaries and be inspired to pursue design projects beyond typologies.”

For industry suppliers and service providers, IDM 2016 promises three days of true marketing and business networking experience where they will be able to interact with the right market and attain the right sales in one convenient venue. IDM 2016 is where they can increase brand recognition, amplify publicity, showcase the latest trends in the market, and experience face-to-face buyer and seller interactions like never before.

Within the expo, IDM 2016 will feature the Interior Design Plus with the top brands of fixtures, fittings and finishing materials; Interior Design Excellence Award Pavilion where 10 selected professional Interior Designers showcase never-before-seen concepts and ideas for the modern home; a two day Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Conference for PIID members and lastly, a workshop on material application that will be held on the last day specifically designed for today’s interior designer.

“PIFS is without a doubt the most impressive showcase the country has ever seen and IDM is just the perfect match to it. Every booth is specially designed and every product is intricately produced — that’s why we are called the Milan of Asia,” added Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines (CFIP) president Eduardo “Duke” Zuluaga.

“IDM 2016 may not be the biggest event, but it will surely be the best design-led event ever put together. This is where class and taste meet. Definitely a must-attend, must-see show for 2016,” added Jao.

IDM 2016 is now accepting applications for interested exhibitors and sponsors. For more information, contact the Event Manager, Global-Link Exhibitions Specialist Inc., at 893-7973 and look for Raileen Yamco or Antoinette Pielagoor You may also email [email protected].
