BCDA names new chair
MANILA, Philippines - State-owned Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has welcomed Malacañang’s appointment of its first woman chairperson.
President Aquino appointed Ma. Aurora Geotina-Garcia as the new BCDA chairperson, replacing Rolando Gosiengfiao who passed away in January this year.
Garcia, considered a global leader in corporate finance, has been a BCDA board director since 2011.
She is currently the president of Mageo Consulting Inc., a corporate finance and professional service company providing financial advisory service.
Garcia is also the chairperson of the Women’s Business Council Philippine, Inc. and a member of various professional organizations which include the Management Association of the Philippines and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Also appointed by President Aquino were three new BCDA board directors Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr., Joseph Emile Juico and Gerard Seno.
“We welcome the appointments of chairperson Garcia, as we underscore the value of women’s participation in BCDA governance, and board directors Gen. Pio P. Catapang Jr., (Ret), Joseph Emile Juico and Gerard Seno,” BCDA president and CEO Arnel Paciano Casanova said.
“We look forward to working with them in pursuit of national development. Their wealth of experience in various industries and sectors will contribute much in realizing BCDA’s vision, mission, mandate and goals,” Casanova added.
