HONG KONG – The global marketing, sales and operating arm of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) has partnered with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) for a program aimed at enabling overseas Filipinos to explore business opportunities in the country.
Through PLDT Global Corp.’s partnership with PCE, overseas Filipinos can now be part of the Smart Pinoy-Go Negosyo caravan that aims to provide entrepreneurial ideas and insights on possible business opportunities in the Philippines.
“This is our way of providing our overseas Filipinos a viable option when they return home and decide to start a business in our country,” Eric Alberto, PLDT and Smart executive vice president and head of enterprise, international, and carrier business said.
The first leg of the Smart Pinoy-Go Negosyo caravan will be held on Oct. 18, in Hong Kong, in cooperation with the Philippine General Consulate Office.
The event expects to have around 300 overseas Filipinos as participants.
The caravan will include talks on financial literacy, basics of franchising, and developing the right mind set in setting up a business.
Among the speakers are Go Negosyo executive director Ramon Lopez, Association of Filipino Franchisers Inc. chairman Armando Bartolome, and Abrea Consulting chief strategy officer Mon Abrea.
The forum will also feature successful entrepreneurs as well as an exhibit of various Philippine businesses where caravan participants can sign-up for more information or possible franchising.
“It will be a whole day of learning and fun for our entrepreneurial overseas Filipinos and we’re giving them access to the Smart Pinoy-Go Negosyo caravan for free,” PGC president and chief executive officer Alex Caeg said.
