Search on for math wizards in Southern Tagalog schools

MANILA, Philippines - The UPLB Mathematical Sciences Society (MASS) hosts today the 28th edition of the Southern Tagalog Invitational Mathematical Challenge, an annual quiz contest open to all high school students in Calabarzon and Mimaropa regions.

The event, more popularly known as Mathematch, is in line with the celebration of Mathematical Sciences Week at the University of the Philippines, Los Baños.

The regional offices of the Department of Education (Regions IV-A, IV-B) have endorsed the event, taking note of the UPLB MASS goal of contributing to the development of the Filipino nation by cultivating deeper appreciation and wider application of mathematical sciences and fostering academic excellence in the direction of social relevance.
