MANILA, Philippines – Bloomberg TV Philippines is set to start airing today.
The MVP Group said Bloomberg TV Philippines, the first and only 24-hour business news channel in the country, will be made available beginning today through Cignal Digital TV, the pay TV arm of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co.
Bloomberg TV Philippines is a joint undertaking of Cignal, MediaQuest and global business and financial news network Bloomberg.
Presented in English, Bloomberg TV Philippines has a lineup of programs focused on Philippine businesses and their concerns.
The business news channel will provide stock market tips, investment talks and stories affecting market players in the country.
While the channel will be available exclusively to Cignal subscribers, there are plans to show a portion of Bloomberg TV Philippines for about 30 to 45 minutes to free TV viewers through TV5 Network Inc., which is also owned by MediaQuest.
Bloomberg Television, a multi-platform 24-hour business and financial news network, provides continuous coverage of the people, companies and ideas that move global markets.
Aside from Cignal and TV5, MediaQuest also has controlling interests in Nation Broadcasting Corp., a company engaged in the business of commercial radio broadcasting nationwide, as well as local publications BusinessWorld Publishing Corp. (BusinessWorld) and Philstar Daily, Inc. (The Philippine STAR).
