InvestHK seminar offers prospects in Hong Kong

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - InvestHK, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government department responsible for foreign direct investment, announces the opportunity for Philippine companies to invest in Hong Kong, consistently rated as one of the word’s best business cities.

A free but invitational business seminar and networking luncheon “Hong Kong: Where Business Goes To Grow” will be held on Sept. 24 at the Manila Peninsula to orient interested parties on investment opportunities in Hong Kong. Topics include: Business Opportunities in HK and China; Hong Kong as Gateway to China; and Helping SMEs Expand Global Trade through HKTDC’s Integrated Marketplace.

Since its establishment in July 2000, InvestHK (Invest Hong Kong) has assisted over 3,700 investor companies, creating 40,200 jobs and generating over HK$99 billion (P592.4 billion) in investment.

InvestHK is mandated to help investors to succeed and minimize risk by providing assistance throughout the various stages (planning, set-up, launch and expansion) of the business development of investor clients the government agency assists on a long-term basis. The department’s services are free, customized and are handled with utmost confidentiality.

With the imminent formation of an Asean Economic Community (AEC), the strategic advantage of Hong Kong as the ideal base for doing business in the region has become more timely and relevant than before. Hong Kong remains as a leading international business and financial center in the region, with one of the world’s freest economies, and a logical gateway to doing business with Mainland China and across the region.

Priority investment areas are: business and professional services, consumer products, creative industries, financial services, information and communications technology, innovation and technology, tourism and hospitality, transportation and industrial.
