MANILA, Philippines - The World Bank has given the Philippine Rural Development Project a satisfactory rating following the completion of a month-long review of the program, the Department of Agriculture said yesterday.
Launced in the second semester of 2014, the PRDP aims to strengthen agricultural value chains in the provinces.
During the review mission, which commenced on Aug. 24, the WB team met with the heads and personnel of PRDP’s project support offices and regional project coordination offices to discuss the implementation of the program.
The team also checked if tools, processes and monitoring systems in the sub-project sites were in place.
The assessment team also visited ongoing infrastructure projects under the I-BUILD component of the program and assessed the proposed enterprise development projects under the I-REAP component of the PRDP.
