Cebu Pacific offering new direct flights

MANILA, Philippines - Budget carrier Cebu Air Inc. (Cebu Pacific) is offering new direct flights to Japan, Taiwan and Singapore in December.

In a statement, Cebu Pacific said it would inaugurate direct flights from Manila to Fukuoka, Japan; Cebu to Taipei, Taiwan; and, Davao to Singapore on Dec. 17.

The Manila to Fukuoka route will be offered thrice per week. The maiden flight will depart at 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 17, and arrive at 6:55 p.m, while the return flight will leave at 8 p.m. and land at 10:40 p.m.

Fukuoka is Cebu Pacific’s fourth destination in Japan, after Osaka, Tokyo (Narita) and Nagoya.

The Davao-Singapore flight meanwhile, will be available twice per week. The inaugural flight will leave Davao at 5:35 p.m. and get to Singapore at 9:10 p.m. The return flight meanwhile, will depart at 9:55 p.m. and arrive at 1:40 a.m.

Singapore is Cebu Pacific’s first international route from Davao.

The last new international service to be launched on Dec. 17, is the Cebu-Taipei route which will be offered thrice weekly. The maiden flight will depart Cebu at 9:45 p.m. and arrive in Taipei at 12:25 a.m., while the return flight’s departure is at 1:05 a.m. and arrival is at 3:45 a.m.

The service to Taipei is Cebu Pacific’s sixth international route from Cebu. The budget carrier’s other international destinations from Cebu are Hong Kong, Singapore, Incheon, Busan and Tokyo (Narita).

All three routes will utilize the airline’s brand-new Airbus A320 aircraft fleet.

The new international flights are expected to open new markets for tourism and business.

“We look forward to seeing the ‘Cebu Pacific effect’ in the new routes we will operate. We’ve seen time and again how connectivity and CEB’s trademark low fares stimulated travel,” Candice Iyog, vice president for marketing and distribution at Cebu Pacific said.

“It has always been our commitment to contribute to the country’s economic and tourism agenda. We will continue to develop our Philippine hubs to offer fast, affordable flights to more travelers across our network,” she added.

To promote the new routes, Cebu Pacific is holding a seat sale until Sept. 13, or until seats last.

The Cebu-Taipei and Manila-Fukuoka seats are up for grabs at P2,688 all-in and P6,688 all-in respectively, for travel from Dec. 17, 2015 to Jan. 31, 2016.

Meanwhile, the Davao-Singapore seats are available at an all-in fare of P1,488 for the Dec. 17, 2015 to July 31, 2016 travel dates.

Cebu Pacific’s network now spans 63 destinations on 97 routes.
