Honda all set for Euro-4

MANILA, Philippines - Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is all set to go once all new vehicles in the domestic market are required to comply with Euro-4 standards by January next year.

After initially obtaining certification for its locally-manufactured City, HCPI said Wednesday it has also secured Euro-4 certification for several vehicle models including the Brio, Brio Amaze, Mobilio, CR-V, Civic, Jazz, HR-V, Accord, Odyssey and CR-Z. 

“When you buy a Honda car, you have nothing to worry about. Since Honda automobiles currently sold in the market are already Euro-4 certified, customers can purchase any Honda product with confidence and assurance. Customers need not concern themselves about the government issuance of this order come January 2016. Moreover, customers can be certain that they are doing their part in minimizing the harmful pollutants that are released to the environment,” HCPI president and general manager Toshio Kuwahara said.

The Philippine unit of Japan’s Honda Motor Co. Ltd. said it has actively sought and obtained Euro-4 emission standard certification from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for its entire vehicle lineup as early as June this year. 

Kuwahara said the company’s Euro-4 compliance is a testament to Honda’s continuing efforts in striving for a cleaner and greener environment.

He added it has always been one of the firm’s thrusts “to leave blue skies for children” which is why Honda produces products that are safer for the environment and for its users.

“We would like to assure our customers that Honda takes proactive actions to help contribute in reducing the destruction of our ozone layer and the effect of global warming,”  Kuwahara said.

The DENR has ordered that all vehicles released to the market must be Euro-4 emission standard compliant by January 2016 to significantly reduce the amount of pollutants released to the environment and to ensure the quality of breathable air.
