Robinsons Malls host LTO license renewals

MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has partnered with the Gokongwei family’s Robinsons Malls to launch its new service improvement program involving the establishment of Driver’s License Renewal Offices (DLROs) around the country.

Under their memorandum of agreement, Robinsons Malls will provide office space for DLROs at 24 of its malls across the country for 10 years.

In a statement, Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya lauded LTO for its initiative to bring its services closer to the people and provide convenient alternatives in renewing their licenses.

“With various reform and modernization programs being implemented, we can look forward to much-improved services at the LTO. We also thank Robinsons Malls for being the government’s first DLRO partner, which entails waiving valuable rental fees for the use of their mall space,” Abaya said.

Currently, nine Robinsons Malls host LTO satellite offices, which are operated by private entities.

The DLROs will be opened in Robinsons Malls in Metro Manila including Galleria, Metro East, Novaliches, Las Piñas and Manila.

Outskirts of the metro such as Robinsons Place Butuan, Santiago, Sta. Rosa, Roxas, Galleria Cebu, Malolos, Cainta, Ilocos, Angeles, Imus, Bacolod, Palawan, Iloilo, Pangasinan, General Santos, Starmills in Pampanga, Lipa, Dasmariñas and Dumaguete will also open DLROs.

Furthermore, LTO said it also aims to open DLROs in all major malls nationwide.
