28 firms line up for crack at LTFRB IT upgrade project
MANILA, Philippines - Twenty-eight firms expressed interest in the P298-million Road Transport Information Technology (Phase II) project under the government’s public-private partnership (PPP) program.
The PPP Center said yesterday the 28 firms were present during the pre-bid conference held on Monday.
The project will involve the upgrade of the existing IT infrastructure of Land Transportation and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
The work will cover computerization of the LTFRB’s manual processes, as well as development and supply of its network infrastructure (hardware), database, and applications (software).
The computerization of LTFRB’s processes is intended to clean up the agency’s existing data as well as enhance data collection and processing.
The project is also envisioned to facilitate integration within the LTFRB and among related agencies.
Aside from the LTFRB’s IT project, the government is also looking to roll out another IT project, the P1.59 billion Civil Registry System (Phase II) of the Philippine Statistics Authority.
The PPP program which was launched in 2010, is aimed to address the country’s infrastructure gap, deliver public services and generate jobs.
