MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) has officially opened its Franchise Excellence Awards (FEA) 2015 search, with the winners in both homegrown and international be conferred recognitions during the Franchise Excellence Awards (FEA) 2015 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom on Sept. 23 this year.
PFA president Franklin Go said the FEA winners “have become benchmarks of success in the country’s franchise sector and have inspired many in the industry to strive for excellence, a key to become globally competitive.”
Two of the coveted awards are the Global Filipino Franchise Award (President’s Award), which recognizes Philippine franchise companies that have become benchmarks in overseas expansion; and the Outstanding Filipino Franchise Award, which is for Filipino franchise brands that have become benchmarks in national market penetration through excellent franchise operations and good corporate governance.
Hopefuls may also bag the International Master Franchise Award, which recognizes international franchises operating in the country that have become benchmarks in franchise operations, particularly in sustained sales growth, expansion and employment generation; the Most Promising Filipino Franchise Award, for MSME Filipino franchises that have the potential to become major players in the industry; and the Best Overall Marketing Campaign Award, which recognizes franchise companies with a successful and effective marketing program that contributed significantly to its growth and to the advancement of the franchising sector.
There will also be awards for franchisees who have epitomized success and growth in franchise operations.
FEA nominees are judged based on a carefully crafted set of criteria, which include the franchise concept and program, sales and marketing scheme, operating system, corporate social responsibility, and ethical practices and reputation. Growth and financial performance and profitability are highly decisive considerations.
The FEA is the only award of distinction from the Philippine franchise sector given to local and foreign franchisors and franchisees who have epitomized excellence both in terms of business growth and good ethical practices. The FEA search is a joint project of PFA and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in cooperation with the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).
Launched in 1998, FEA has been instrumental in raising the level of Philippine franchising through excellence promotion. The first FEA awards were given in 1999 and every year until 2007 when the PFA started giving out the awards every two years.
The roster of distinguished FEA awardees include 7-Eleven, Chowking, Bench, Crystal Clear, Goldilocks, Greenwich, Jollibee, McDonald’s, Max’s Restaurant, Pizza Hut, Pancake House, Potato Corner, Red Ribbon, Seaoil, Shakey’s and Waffle Time.
