Rolls Royce opens Manila showroom

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Rolls Royce Motor Cars has opened a new showroom in Manila as it is upbeat on the growth of its business here amid expectations of sustained economic growth.

Michael Alexander Schneider, Rolls Royce general manager for Asia Pacific, told reporters during the launch of the new facility yesterday, they see a very bright future for their business in the Philippines.

“Our market entry always follows initial market demand. We have been pleased with the demand we’ve seen in the market so far and we certainly expect that given the economic growth in the country, (we will) continue on that growth path,” he said.

He declined to disclose sales figures from the Philippine market last year, but said the country contributed to the record sales of 4,063 units achieved by Rolls Royce Motor Cars globally in 2014.

“Across the region, we see the Philippines is in the cluster of strongly emerging very-well developed markets. In places like Manila, infrastructure is already quite advanced and for the rest of the country, it will advance giving the economic growth,” he said.

Within the Southeast Asian region, Rolls Royce Motor Cars has presence in all countries except Laos and Myanmar.

As the Philippines is expected to sustain its strong economic growth in the next five to seven years, Rolls Royce Motor Cars Manila Dealer Willy Tee Ten said the market offers promise to the luxury automotive brand.

“We’re very hopeful, optimistic that the brand will keep on growing and hopefully, people will have more purchasing power. At the end, there will be new ultra high net worth individuals that are doing so well and hopefully, they will consider buying Rolls Royce,” he said.

While orders for Rolls Royce cars have been made previously through the interim facility opened in Bonifacio Global City in 2013, he said the opening of an official showroom is expected to better serve discerning customers and show that the luxury automotive brand is committed to cater to this market.

“As the official dealer for Rolls Royce Motor Cars here, we have been serving customers in Manila for some time, but this new showroom facility will enable us to better commission bespoke cars for our highly-discerning customers. We strive to ensure that our customers enjoy an effortless sales and after-sales experience befitting Rolls Royce and our exceptional facility here creates that luxurious environment,” he said.

The new showroom located in Bonifacio Global City occupies 323-square meters and could accommodate up to three cars.

On display at the showroom are the Phantom, Wraith and the Ghost Series II.

The Ghost Series II launched yesterday is considered the choice for the world’s most successful entrepreneurs.
