Smart, McDonald’s launch unli text, chat promo

MANILA, Philippines - Smart Communications Inc., the flagship wireless arm of dominant carrier Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), has partnered with the world’s largest fastfood chain, McDonald’s, to help subscribers stay in touch with family and friends.

Charles Lim, executive vice president and head of Wireless Consumer Division at Smart, said the partnership of the two industry leaders would offer a valuable treat that gives Filipinos more reason to stay in touch with family and friends.

Under the partnership, every order of any McDonald’s Value Meal plus fries or sundae comes with a free Super Messaging 10 coupon from Smart, which offers a whole day of unlimited text and unlimited access to mobile chat apps. 

Designed to cover all messaging needs, Super Messaging 10 gives Smart prepaid subscribers nationwide one day of unlimited text to all Smart, Sun and Talk ‘N Text subscribers as well as all-day access to top chat apps such as Facebook Messenger, Line, Viber, WeChat and Whatapp – without need for WiFi connection.

The free Super Messaging 10 coupon is available to Dine-In, Takeout, Drive-Thru and McDelivery customers at any McDonald’s outlets nationwide until April 21, while redemption of the free Super Messaging 10 codes by Smart subscribers is until June 21.

Smart prepaid head Joel Lumanlan said the unlimited text would reward subscribers as they would he able to send thoughtful and heartfelt messages to friends and loved ones, and at the same time stay active on their favorite chat apps without need for WiFi connection.
