Toyota supports APEC as mobility partner

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) signed recently a memorandum of agreement with the government to become a mobility partner in the APEC Philippines 2015.

Toyota will be providing 483 Toyota vehicles to be used as transportation by delegates during the APEC 2015 Senior Officials’ Meetings, APEC 2015 CEO Summit, and APEC 2015 private sector-related meetings. Toyota will, likewise, employ drivers for the Altis, Fortuner, and Hiace units it will provide.

APEC 2015 CEO Summit COO Guillermo Luz said: “It is not just the provision of the cars and the sponsorship for mobility but it’s really more about the spirit of cooperation and collaboration…and I’d like to just emphasize that our theme for the CEO Summit this year is “Better. Stronger. Together.”, and this exemplifies partnerships that we are promoting across APEC and with special friends in the Philippines such as Toyota.”

For his part, Secretary Jose Rene Almendras expressed confidence about the country hosting the APEC 2015 saying “we can show the world that it’s going to be more fun in the Philippines and Toyota being part of this is a lot more meaningful because every delegation coming to the Philippines will be riding a Toyota and they will know that Toyota is respected and a beloved brand and is actually a part of the Philippines.”

In his message, TMP president Michinobu Sugata expressed high hopes saying “we are optimistic that the APEC Philippines 2015 will bring positive results and create significant impact on local industries in the country, as well as in global business operations in the region.”

Through this partnership, Toyota conveys its fullest support to the Philippine government and to the country’s economic and social progress.
