Peso moves sideways midday Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines - The peso moved sideways against the dollar midday Wednesday, settling at 44.772 from the previous day's 44.735.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $235.4 million in the morning, lower than the $401.9 million posted the same period on Tuesday.

The peso opened Wednesday at 44.8.
