Smartmatic parent firm reorganized

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Smartmatic Philippines, under the stewardship of newly-organized parent company, has renewed its commitment to offering and providing world-class technology and services to Filipino people in ever-changing times. Smartmatic’s local operation is expected to get a boost with the launching of the SGO, its London-based parent company headed by Antonio Mugica, CEO and co-founder of Smartmatic and British Lord Mark Malloch-Brown, chairman. The new venture will see the world’s leading elections technology provider expand and make substantial investments in biometrics, online identity verification, internet voting and citizen participation, e-governance and pollution control. “The launch of SGO reflects our widening vision and our ambition to harness the talents of our staff outside election technologies and consulting”, said Mugica. Joining Malloch-Brown is Sir Nigel Knowles, Global CEO of DLA Piper, renowned entrepreneur David Giampaolo and Roger Piñate, Smartmatic’s COO. Founded in 2000, Smartmatic has transformed elections around the world by guaranteeing total integrity of the electoral process from registration, to vote count, all the way to results proclamation, backed by unrivalled technology and project management.
