Seminar for tourism retailers set in Boracay
MANILA, Philippines - After the well-attended and highly successful leg in Legazpi City, the “Lakbay-Turo Para sa Micro-Tourism” seminar of the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) will be held next at the Sea Wind resort in Boracay on Dec. 11, PRA president Lorenzo “Enchong” C. Formoso, COO of Duty Free Philippines, announced.
“We are supporting the public- private efforts to gear up our retailers for the ASEAN economic integration happening in end-2015. At the same time, the PRA is in full support to boost the DOT’s ‘It’s more fun in the Philippines’ campaign and ‘Visit Philippines Year 2015’ efforts,” Formoso said.
The Lakbay-Turo program is a seminar-workshop covering store operations, customer service excellence, merchandise display, etc. It is geared for micro and small retailers in key tourist areas in the country to be able to help these retailers improve their operations and better serve their customers, particularly tourists. The program is a joint undertaking of the PRA and the Department of Tourism under Undersecretary Maria Victoria V. Jasmin.
For this program, the PRA has brought in international human resource expert Francisco “Franz” dela Cruz Jr. to conduct the one-day seminar-workshop for micro and small retailers in the selected tourist- heavy provinces.
Dela Cruz is an independent retail and HR trainer, facilitator, resource speaker and consultant both here and abroad, a certified leader by the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM London), and a certified competency developer by the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) Canada.
