Australian BPO firm buys out Shore Solutions

MANILA, Philippines - Australian business process outsourcing firm Acquire BPO has gobbled up Philippine-based Shore Solutions Inc., one of the fastest-growing BPOs in the country.

The acquisition will add approximately 2,000 employees to Acquire BPO’s portfolio currently consisting of 5,000 employees globally.

The transaction would also result to a $100-million BPO entity as Acquire BPO and Shore Solutions merged their assets in the Philippines.

“The acquisition of Shore offers several exciting opportunities for Acquire in diversifying our current service offering and bolstering our revenue. In particular, Shore is a market leader in the BPO side of the business with strong expertise across human resource outsourcing, knowledge process outsourcing, IT and professional services, and this really complements Acquire’s outsourcing capabilities,” said Scott Stavretis, Acquire BPO and Shore Solutions chief executive officer.

“Shore is also a value added reseller of SAP-SuccessFactors HCM cloud technology and we are delighted to add this to our service offerings. Shore’s contact center division has grown rapidly over the past three years and services a range of clients across the globe including some very large well-known household brands,” Stavretis added.

The acquisition is the second made by Acquire in less than 12 months as it intends to accelerate growth as well as increase market share in the BPO industry.

Stavretis said Acquire BPO is retaining the Shore Solutions brand as well as its management even with the acquisition.

“I am extremely pleased that the current executive directors of Shore, Darcy Lalonde and Jonathan Smith, who are both well-respected industry leaders, have committed to the future of Acquire and Shore, leveraging the combined groups’ experience,” he said.

Acquire BPO currently has six sites in the country while Shore Solutions, with the Philippines as its only BPO location, has four.

Darcy Lalonde, Shore Solutions chief executive officer, said the two entities will seek to further expand the business into a 10,000-strong firm in the next 12 to 24 months. The acquisition will scale up the Acquire employee numbers to about 7,000 globally at present.
