Wells Fargo joins HOM

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Wells Fargo Enterprise Global Services (EGS) LLC-Philippines has partnered with Hands On Manila (HOM), a non-government charitable organization, to work hand-in-hand on several volunteering programs. Wells Fargo currently sponsors a school under HOM’s Galing mo Kid (GMK) program which mentors high-achieving public school students on Science, Math, English and Civics. Every Saturday, Wells Fargo volunteers participate in a two-hour mentoring session to 50 Grade 5 students of Kapitan Jose Cardones Elementary School in Taguig City. Wells Fargo also joined HOM’s Servathon, a one-day community service with hundreds of volunteers providing assistance to marginalized sectors. Volunteers trained under MyShelter Foundation in building solar lighting systems that function both day and night for those affected by Typhoon Yolanda in Visayas with no safe and sustainable electricity source. “In Wells Fargo, we encourage our team members to volunteer. We direct our volunteer projects in areas that, we believe, are important to our nation’s future like community development, education and human services,” said Denis McGee, Wells Fargo EGS Philippines chief administrative officer. Yearly, Wells Fargo conducts a month-long volunteering gala, a series of different volunteering projects held around the metro. This year, Wells Fargo’s volunteering gala focused on environmental projects, elderly care, educational lessons, cheering up sick child patients and animal care programs.
