CIAC signs new deal with garments firm
CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, Philippines – The Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) recently signed two lease contracts with L&T International Group Philippines Inc. which is expanding its garments manufacturing operations within Clark’s aviation complex.
L&T International was among the first investors to establish here on the Freeport in 1994. It is located in an area that used to be under the jurisdiction of the state-owned Clark Development Corp., also a subsidiary of the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA), but the site was later classified as part of the aviation area under the CIAC.
CIAC president and CEO Victor Jose Luciano and L&T International Group president Francisco Sauceda signed the two contracts one pertaining to the latter’s expansion program that would cover 6,033 5,941 square meters and employment of 150 more workers by next year.
The second contract pertains to yet another lease on lands covering 5,941 square meters for L&T International Group’s expansion.
Both contracts are binding for 10 years with an option for renewal.
Other CIAC officials who were at the contract signing were CIAC vice president for Admin and Finance Lauro Ortile, executive vice president Bienvenido Manga, acting corporate secretary Milani Reyes, L&T Group senior vice president John Poon, L&T Group vice president Marilet Zuniga and chief of staff Chit Manlapaz.
“The two lease contracts will pave the way for the development and future expansion of the garment firm’s operations at the aviation complex,” Luciano said.
