Peso sinks midday Friday

MANILA, Philippines - The peso dipped against the dollar midday Friday, settling at 43.992 from the previous day's 43.855.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $636.1 million in the morning, higher than the $479.1 million posted the same period on Thursday.

The peso opened Friday at 44.
