Bulacan chosen as pilot area for Go Negosyo center in N. Luzon
MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan, Philippines – Sen. Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, Gov. Wilhemino Sy-Alvarado and Bulacan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) chairman Antonio Tengco on Monday forged a memorandum of agreement making Bulacan as the pilot area of the Go Negosyo Center for Northern Luzon.
Aquino, who graced the Singkaban Fiesta of the province, lauded the initiatives of Alvarado and Tengco for propelling Bulacan as the showcase of small and medium scale enterprises.
“The enthusiasm of SME’s in Bulacan is very high and in full swing. It is prudent to make Bulacan as the first pilot area of the Go Negosyo Center for Northern Luzon because growing SME’s will not only spell growth and boost more economic booms in the province, but also in the entire country as well,” said Aquino, who chairs the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship as well as the Committee on Youth.
For his part, Alvarado thanked the young solon for gracing the annual Singkaban Fiesta and for making it very special by making the province the pilot area of the Go Negosyo center in Northern Luzon.
The ‘Go Negosyo’ center will be housed at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center adjacent to the BCCI office.
Aquino said the province of Bulacan is blessed with good leaders, vast natural resources and hardworking people.
The province is also known for its rich cultural and historical heritage, thus making it more attractive for investments.
Aquino, together with Gov. Alvarado, Vice Gov. Daniel Fernando and other provincial officials, led the opening of different weeklong exhibits and trade fairs in the capitol compound including the Dakilang Bulakenyo at Lakan Sining Exhibits that showcases the life and contribution of Apolinario Mabini and his connection with the Bulakenyo heroes.
They also re-launched the expanded Bulacan Pasalubong Center and regional trade fair to draw the attention of the public on the services they offer.
Aquino also lauded the Bulacan Food Fair and Exposition (BUFFEX) that offers food sampling, on-the-spot cooking demo and other cooking competitions and the Sining sa Hardin which shows performances of Bulakenyo artists including the Hiyas ng Bulacan Brass Band.
To prove that Bulacan products are loved and patronized around the world, BCCI chairman Tengco said that he recieved a letter from American Ambassador to the Philipines Philip S. Goldberg thanking him for the box of Pastillas from San Miguel,Bulacan which is known for its sweets and other native delicacies.
