The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  Perfect Food, the manufacturer of Malaysia’s famous Julie’s biscuits is eyeing more than 200 percent sales growth in its third year of operations here, since it entered the Philippine market in 2011.

Perfect Food Manufacturing Sdn Bhd business development manager Wilson Lim is confident of achieving higher sales volume, as it expands distribution and introduce new products.

“Our market is still very small in the Philippines, since we are here only for three years, but we believe there’s still plenty of room for us, as the (market) acceptance is getting better and better,” he said.

“The company continues to post double digit growth in sales and revenues,” he added.

Trade office of the Malaysian Embassy in Manila (MATRADE Manila) marketing manager Anthony Rivera said Perfect Manufacturing has been posting steady growth since it started its business in 2011.

“Perfect Manufacturing sees a 233 percent growth in sales for this year from the actual sales generated three years ago,” he said.

“MATRADE Manila has been an active supporter of Malaysian companies that are exploring business opportunities here. Their investment in the Philippines is a step closer to achieving closer integration in the Asean economies by 2015,” he said.

He also noted that during the Trade and Investment Mission (TIM) of Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI) Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed emphasized that the Philippine economy is growing due to the transformation of its economic policies.

“Malaysia played a key role in bringing peace in Mindanao, which is crucial for the overall economic growth and development for Asean. Malaysian investors can leverage on the growth momentum in the Philippines,” he added.

Lim is optimistic on the growing market for its products with the support from its partners in the Philippines.

“We are optimistic with the Philippine market. Generally, the consumers look for quality biscuits and we foresee our biscuits will suit their taste bites. Moreover this segment keeps growing,” he said.
