MANILA, Philippines - Michael Toledo, media-bureau head of the MVP Group of Companies and SVP for corporate affairs at Philex Mining Corp., has been named this year’s CEO Excel, or Communication Excellence in Organization, awardee by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines.
“With this honor, we welcome you to the select group of outstanding national and industry leaders who epitomize management competence and excellence in communication at a strategic level,” the IABC Philippines said in its Aug. 14 letter to Toledo, an alumnus of the London School of Economics and the University of the Philippines’ College of Law. He finished his Masters in International Law under a full scholarship awarded by the British government.
Toledo described his award as a triumph of all the hard work that the women and men of Philex Mining Corp. and the MVP Group of Companies have put into their work, saying, “Awards like these should not make us rest on our laurels, but, rather, serve as an inspiration to further improve ourselves and be better role-models to the other professionals in the industry.”
The CEO Excel Awards has been granted annually since 2005 to top-level business executives and organization leaders from the private, government, academic, and nonprofit organizations.
“As a previous awardee, you are an acknowledged champion of excellent communication to achieve business goals and a leader for good government and responsible corporate citizenship who inspires others to serve for the greater good,” the letter said, adding that the awarding ceremonies are on Sept. 4.
The IABC Philippines is the first country-chapter established outside the United States by the San Francisco-based IABC, one of the world’s largest business communication organizations, with about 14,000 member-professionals in over 70 countries.
