Hyundai distributor expanding sales network

MANILA, Philippines - The local distributor of South Korea’s Hyundai vehicles is expanding its network by opening four more showrooms this year and putting up five green dealerships next year to better serve its customers.

Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) said in a statement that following the inauguration of its new branch in Davao City yesterday, it is planning to open four more dealerships in Marilao in Bulacan, Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija, Batangas City and Pagsanjan in Laguna.

Earlier this year, the firm opened a branch in Parañaque West.

 “As the entire dealership network continues to build bigger and better facilities that adhere to the global standards of Hyundai Motor Co. (HMC), the rise of new dealers will boost coverage, making it much easier for customers in Metro Manila and the provinces to access Hyundai’s premium sales, after-sales, and customer service offerings,”HARI said.

For next year, the firm is planning to open green dealerships in line with HMC’s international brand identity.

The pilot green dealerships are expected in the following locations: Angeles City in Pampanga, Cainta in Rizal, Cebu South, Gen. Santos City and Lipa City in Batangas.

The green dealerships will feature nature-inspired designs and have operations mindful of the environment.

At present, HARI has 38 dealerships.

As of the first semester, HARI’s sales posted a six percent uptick to 11,651 units from 10,992 units in the comparable period in 2013.

Earlier, HARI president and chief executive officer Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo said the firm expects total sales this year to post “flat growth” from the 22,033 units sold in 2013.

For 2015, she said the firm sees sales growing by as much as 25 percent as new Hyundai vehicle models are introduced in the market and as it recovers from supply constraints.

All Hyundai vehicles sold in the country are imported from South Korea.
