IN PHOTOS: NAIA Terminal 3 full airline operations start

MANILA, Philippines — Full airline operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 commenced Friday following the completion of most renovation efforts.

Five foreign airlines—Delta Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Emirates Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific Airways—are also expected to be transferred to the Terminal 3, which was seen to reduce the annual passenger throughput from eight million to 4.5 million.

The newly renovated terminal also aims to decongest the NAIA Terminal 1.

The Department of Transportation and Communications said that remaining airline systems, such as building maintenance that are not critical to its functions, will be completed within the year.
