MANILA, Philippines - The local unit of Japan’s Mitsubishi Motors Corp. hit its highest monthly sales in June amid strong demand for vehicles.
According to Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC), it recorded its highest monthly sales of 4,535 units in June, beating the previous sales record of 4,410 units achieved in February.
MMPC’s June sales went up 27.9 percent compared to the 3,545 units sold in the same month last year.
Compared to the 4,120 units sold by the company in May, the June result grew by 10.1 percent.
For the January to June period, MMPC sold 25,066 units, a 17.8 percent increase from the 21,282 units sold during the same period last year.
The firm attributed the increase in sales to the demand for its extensive product lineup.
“This significant growth is attributed to the increase in sales of both passenger cars and light commercial vehicles,” it said.
It noted that the locally manufactured Adventure and L300 models remain to be the preferred vehicles of customers engaged in small to medium scale businesses looking for units which are reliable and have low maintenance cost.
The Mirage and Mirage G4 models which have received good market reception, likewise helped the company achieve higher sales.
Apart from aggressive marketing efforts, flexible financing plans also contributed to higher sales as purchasing a brand new car has been made more affordable.
