Smart, Infosys join forces for M2M business
MANILA, Philippines - Wireless giant Smart Communications Inc. through Smart Enterprise has tied up with Infosys to develop new industry solutions in the areas of Machine-to Machine (M2M) Communication and Internet of Everything (IoE).
Smart Enterprise and Infosys inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to provide solutions aimed at enabling organizations to listen, respond and make predictions based on machine-generated data.
Both companies would leverage their proven expertise in technology and intelligent communication to design industry solutions across arenas such as connected healthcare, retail, home security and connected cars.
Under the agreement, Smart Enterprise and Infosys would empower global businesses to nurture new growth avenues by harnessing technologies, like Big Data, Cloud, Mobility and Social Media, to draw insights from data collected from machines.
Both companies would also establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) at SMART Enterprise to serve as a collaborative forum to foster innovation and co-create new integrated solutions in the M2M and Internet of Everything space.
PLDT first vice president Jovy Hernandez said both companies would also work closely with the local innovation ecosystem to draw on their collective best practice and intellectual capital.
Hernandez, who is also head of PLDT Alpha Enterprise and Smart Enterprise sales and marketing, added both companies would leverage high performance solutions from Infosys, to design customized offerings for providers - including those who are a part of the Conexus Mobile Alliance in Asia and Japan

The Centre of Excellence is expected to accelerate solutions development, streamline product delivery and give rise to new business models that help enterprises run more effectively and stay competitive.
