MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine distributor of Porsche vehicles aims for a 36 percent increase in total sales this year compared to a year ago as it expects demand for new vehicle models.
PGA Cars, Inc. managing director Roberto Coyiuto III told reporters during the launch of the Macan on Wednesday evening, the firm intends to sell 150 Porsche vehicles this year, up from about 110 units sold last year.
He said the company wants to achieve higher sales as new Porsche vehicle models are being introduced in the market.
The newly launched Macan crossover sports utility vehicle is expected to help the company achieve higher sales this year.
“This (Macan) is for the younger sporty people,” Coyiuto said.
The Macan, which is available in four variants, has a price range of P5-to-P8 million.
Coyiuto said PGA Cars has already sold seven units of the Macan even prior to its formal launch.
Aside from the Macan, he said PGA Cars is also set to introduce another Porsche model this year.
“Maybe in the third quarter, we will have the face lift of the Cayenne,” he said.
Apart from the new vehicle model launches, the company also hopes to see higher sales amid the country’s positive economic conditions.
Coyiuto said that while Porsche caters to the highend market, there are more Filipinos looking to purchase luxury vehicles.
Apart from Porsche, PGA Cars distributes Audi, Lamborghini and Bentley vehicles.
