Major int’l brands expected to attend Franchise Asia

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) expects a big number of international brands to take advantage of this year’s staging of the Franchise Asia Philippines (FAPHL) 2014 International Franchise Expo to gain access and position themselves in the region ahead of the Asean economic integration happening at the end of 2015.

PFA president Franklin Go said they see another sizeable contingent of foreign brands in the FAPHL 2014 expo, particularly since those that are looking to establish their presence in the Asean’s market of 600 million people already recognize the Philippines as the best gateway to the region.

“The Philippines is already known globally for having a mature franchise industry, so the country is the best launching pad for any international franchise concept that is looking to expand in Asean,” Go emphasized.  “This is why we are expecting a big number of foreign brands in this year’s staging of Franchise Asia Philippines from July 16 to 20 at the SMX Convention Center,” Go explained.

The international franchise expo is a major component of the 4-in-1 FAPHL 2014, touted as the biggest, grandest and most-attended franchise show in Asia.

Aside from the three-day international franchise expo from July 18 to 20, the other components of  FAPHL 2014 are the two-day international franchise conference on July 16 and 17, which will focus on how the business and the franchise sector can prepare in the looming Asean integration; franchise educational seminars from July 18 to 20; and the Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) program on July 14 and 15.  Noted franchise expert Greg Nathan will be the program speaker and facilitator for this year’s CFE program.

Franchise Asia Philippines 2014 international expo chairman Richard V. Sanz said the good mix of homegrown and international brands across different segments makes the expo a compelling event for serious trade buyers and entrepreneurs who want to take the franchising route. The expo features the following areas: food, non-food, international, incubation and emerging concepts via a food street, petro pavilion and allied suppliers.

The expo visitor may likewise register and participate in the Educational Franchise Seminars to learn about Master Franchising 101; How to Franchise Your Business for MSMEs; and How to Invest in the Right Franchise.

Co-presented by BPI Family Ka-Negosyo Franchising Loan, PLDT SME Nation, and Sun Business, the biggest franchise show in Asia is supported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Go Negosyo, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) as partner-organizations.
