PRA, SM, photographers support Yolanda efforts

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Retailers will help raise funds for the public-private efforts to rehabilitate the areas devastated by Super typhoon Yolanda through a photo sale exhibit from May 8 to 12 at SM Aura in McKinley Parkway, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Dubbed “Kisapmata Para sa Pag-Asa,” the five-day exhibit is part of the ongoing campaign of the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) to rally more support from the private sector for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Yolanda- affected areas.

PRA, the organization of the country’s top notch retailers and prime movers in the local retail industry, is holding the event in partnership with Photogra.ph, a camera club composed of avid amateurs and prominent professional photographers.

Proceeds from the sale of the photos in the exhibit will go to the SM Cares Foundation, which is the beneficiary foundation of this event.  Major sponsors are Shell, Canon, and Duty Free Philippines.

“As retailers, we know that the best way to rally and sustain support for an undertaking or a project is to continuously raise the awareness of the stakeholders.  Through this exhibit, we hope to constantly remind the public that we need to do our share in the rehabilitation efforts,” PRA president Lorenzo “Enchong” C. Formoso, also COO of Duty Free Philippines emphasized.

To be displayed during the exhibit are photos by George Tapan, Bien Bautista, Wig Tysmans, Romy Vitug, Edwin Tuyay, Ibarra Deri, Dominic Velasco, Dick Baldovino, Jun Barrameda, Bobot Meru, Raul Bautista, Ed De Guzman, Ben Nollora, and Rene Ner, Derick Gamboa, Mario Hernandez, Mario “Boy” Rotea Jr., Emy Arcilla, Enchong Formoso, Alex Lichaytoo, Adel Samson, Alan Dacanay, Tony Alunan, Oliver Zapa, Ronnel Domingo, Lito Gruela,  Little Wing Lun, Bob Colombo,  Rommel Velasco, and Roy Del Valle.
