Peso strengthens midday Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines  - The peso settled stronger against the dollar as of midday Wednesday, hitting 45.152 compared to Tuesday's 45.23 close.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $396.9 million in the morning, higher than the $324.2 million posted in the same period the previous day.

The peso opened at 45.08 on Wednesday.
