Sulit.com owners contribute P4.3M to typhoon relief fund

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Sulit.com.ph co-founders RJ David and Arianne David announced yesterday that company shareholder Naspers Limited of South Africa has made a $100,000 (P4.3 million) contribution to the Zuellig Family Foundation to deliver relief and support to Filipino families whose lives have been decimated by November’s typhoon.

The contribution was made directly to the Zuellig Family Foundation under the stewardship of its chairman Robert Romulo, who was formerly a member of the board of directors for Naspers¹ global subsidiary named MIH.  The donation is being made from the Naspers office of the chairman, with the hopes of providing some small comfort during such a difficult time for so many Filipino families.

“I’m humbled to be entrusted by my friends and colleagues to be able to deliver relief to our Filipino families during their time of need,” said Romulo. “This act brings not only meaningful and needed financial resources to make a difference for so many people, but also demonstrates a degree of caring and humanity that lifts our spirits when we need it most.”

Sulit.com.ph co-founders RJ and Arianne David and their team have mobilized their own efforts to raise money and provide supplies to families in Tacloban and Cebu where families of friends and employees lost their homes.

“I feel proud that our team, both our own local Filipino employees, as well as my colleagues from around the globe, have rallied to provide support to our Filipino citizens,” said RJ David, CEO and co-founder of Sulit.com.ph.

“This will not bring back what has been lost, but we are pleased to be part of the relief effort that has brought so many people together.”
