Bayer to donate P38-M for 'Yolanda' victims

MANILA, Philippines - Bayer said Thursday that it will donate P38 million to boost humanitarian efforts in areas devastated by super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).

Bayer said P5.8 million (Euro100,000) will be donated to the German Red CRoss, which will be used for medical operations in the typhoon-hit areas.

It said that it will also provide P23.5 million (Euro400,000) to the Philippine Red Cross.

An additional P8.8 million (Euro150,000) is also expected to raised by Bayer through contributions from its employees.

The company said that the amount that will be raised by the employees will be used for the rehabilitation project of one of the areas ravaged by the typhoon.
