Maynilad eyes 100% coverage by 2026
MANILA, Philippines - West Zone water concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. said it expects to cover 100 percent of its concession area by 2026.
In statement, Maynilad president and CEO Ricky Vargas said it has so far connected 95.6 percent of its concession area to its service network.
With 58,094 new connections made in the first nine months of the year, Maynilad has expanded its water service connections to 1.1 million.
The new connections were made mostly in Muntinlupa, Las Pinas and parts of Cavite.
Around 97 percent of the existing connections have round-the-clock water supply.
Maynilad customers have water supply at an average pressure of seven pounds per square inch, the required pressure to reach the second floor of a structure.
With increased service connection, Maynilad’s served population now stands at 8.4 million. The company estimates that nearly 1.3 million people are still not connected to its water distribution network.
Maynilad services the cities of Manila (all but portions of San Andres and Sta. Ana), Quezon City (west of San Juan River, West Avenue, EDSA, Congressional, Mindanao Avenue, the northern part starting from the Districts of the Holy Spirit and Batasan Hills), Makati (west of South Super Highway), Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas and Malabon, all in Metro Manila.
