Amadeus launches new system for booking lowest fares

MANILA, Philippines - Amadeus, a leading technology partner for the global travel industry, has launched a new system which will enable travel agencies to find and book the lowest fare possible based on flight availability.

The new tool, “Amadeus Master Pricer Expert,” provides a powerful and accurate fare search that will provide travel agencies in the country a new means to search and make comparisons for low air fares.

Amadeus Philippines general manager Albert Villadolid said the AMPE is already considered by many in the travel and tourism industry as the best-in-class fare shopping solution tool.

“With its calendar view features and very extensive and accurate fare search capabilities, travel agencies can prove their value to their customers when they use this tool,” Villadolid said.

Travel agencies using the new tool will get 50 recommendations instantly with sourcing coming directly from the airlines.  Additionally, it can also include specific corporate rates stored in Amadeus system.

Using the new tool, travel agencies can check both flight fares and availability via single view and can immediately access a vast range of fares.  Moreover, fares can be searched and booked without a passenger name record (PNR) by just specifying routes and dates or it can be created from an existing PNR.

Among its other features that travel agencies can use are cabin specifications, inclusion or exclusion of particular airlines, alternate airports and travel dates.

It also supports processing of complex and multi segment itineraries and performs ticket-ability pre-checks to facilitate the validating carrier choice for ticket issuance.

One of its first users is ISS GMT Global Marine, which praised its efficiency and accuracy, and noted that it made their staff more productive.

Meanwhile, Amadeus also deployed its Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD) with British Airways for travel agencies in the country.

EMD offers the ability to electronically document reservation change fees and refundable balance through the Amadeus system.  This is part of the International Air Transport Association e-services initiative to eliminate the use of paper and ease processes.

Amadeus travel agencies using EMD for British Airways will be able to collect certain reservation fees and issue excess payments without the need for paper processing.

Amadeus, which started its Philippine operations in 1997, is a global distribution system provider of travel agencies in the country.
