Convergys marks 10-year success in Phl operations
MANILA, Philippines - Convergys, which is commemorating 10 years of Philippine operations, has reported record growth in both employee numbers and contact center sites. Convergys currently has 35,000 employees in the country, and will open its 22nd site in Davao this month.

The company’s commitment to provide employment and career opportunities for the nation’s best and brightest includes its “build from within†philosophy, which has resulted in over 80 percent of its leaders growing their careers within Convergys, many of whom began in the company as agents. Also included among its employees are returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and qualified senior citizens and retirees. Convergys also supports efforts to improve the country’s employable talent pool through its Near-Hire training. In just three months of running this program, close to 700 have been trained and 343 have already found employment in the company.

In fact, our very own employees drive philanthropy right where they live and work. Through the Convergys Community Action Network, they spent 3,685 volunteer hours, supported 13 beneficiary groups across the country, anddonated thousands of goods and over P2.5 million ($60,000) in 2012 alone,†said Ivic Mueco, Convergys Philippines vice president and country manager.
Marife Zamora, Convergys senior vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa, also lauded the company’s ongoing success. “The Philippines has emerged as a top-notch destination in providing customer management services to Convergys clients from North America, United Kingdom, and Australia. Convergys is a three-time recipient of the BPO Employer of the Year recognition and has twice received the BPO Company of the Year recognition in the International ICT Awards. The company is also in the PEZA Hall of Fame for winning Top Employer and Top Exporter three times in a row in both categories.
