MANILA, Philippines - Toyota Motor Philippines Corp.’s (TMPC) Vios hit record high sales last month given the positive reception of the market of the vehicle’s full model change.
Citing the latest vehicle sales report of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc., TMPC said in a statement it attained its highest sales volume of the Vios last month, posting sales of 2,125 units.
The sales volume registered last month beat the vehicle model’s previous record-high monthly sales of 1,760 units in December 2012.
“Having to reach this number of units sold in one month can be attributed to the trust that the customers have shown towards the full model change Vios.
On top of its already known quality features, this new model embodies excitement in every angle, making it a car that is fun-to-drive for everyone,†TMPC president Michinobu Sugata said.
The all-new Vios sedan was launched in the local market in July.
Other Toyota vehicle models also performed well in August.
TMPC sold a total of 1,129 units of the Innova last month, making it the highest selling commercial vehicle.
The firm added that the Camry, Corolla Altis, Hiace and the Hilux continue to be the best-selling vehicles in their respective segments.

TMPC accounts for the bulk of total vehicle sales in the country, making it the top automotive brand in the country.
TMPC expects to achieve higher sales this year, citing anticipated strong demand for the new Vios as well as its other offerings.
Last month, Sugata said the firm has raised its sales forecast to 75,000 units for this year from the previous forecast of 70,000 units.
