MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Stock Exchange index snapped a two-day decline to end the week in the green, closing at 5,974.62 with a 15.4-point or 0.26-percent improvement.
The broader all-shares index similarly rose by 3.26 points or 0.09 percent to 3,659.73.
The subindices posted mixed results, with the industrial, holding firms and services sectors rising and the financials, mining and oil and property groups falling.
Biggest gainers include iRipple, Inc., Globalport 900, Inc. and ATN Holdings, Inc. Biggest losers, on the other hand, were Suntrust Home Developers, Inc., United Paragon Mining Corp. and Nihao Mineral Resources International, Inc.
Total volume amounted to 1.36 billion shares valued at P5.37 billion. Decliners outnumbered advancers 80 to 61, while 40 issues remained unchanged.
